vBulletin 3.0.0 Release Candidate 3
As I stated in my RC3 status update late last week, we feel that a sufficient number of bugs have been squashed since the release of RC2, and the time has come to put out RC3.
We are now drawing close to the time when thoughts will turn to the final, Gold version of vBulletin 3, so the time to go hunting for (and to report) bugs is now if you want problems you encounter to be fixed in time for the final version. Any problems you encounter that you believe to be a software error can be reported using the vBulletin Bug Tracker.
Bugs Fixed
Here is a list of some of the bugs fixed between RC2 and RC3:
PHP 5 cleanup when using array_merge (Link)
WebTV problem when posting (Link)
Mac IE rendering problem resolved (Link)
Redirect error when editing a poll (Link)
Position doesn't change when the drop down menus are turned off (Link)
Could see titles of threads in passworded forums on Who's Online (Link)
Avatar category permissions not working properly for secondary usergroups (Link)
Incorrect headers sent for images under PHP-CGI (Link)
Guests now see 'Active Topics' rather than 'New Posts' (Link)
Users unable to delete attachments from their UserCP (Link)

Changed Templates
To get a list of templates that you have customized and that have changed between RC2 and RC3, use the Find Updated Templates tool, located in the Styles & Templates section of your vBulletin Admin CP.
Installation / Upgrade Instructions
To install vBulletin 3, or to upgrade from a previous version of vBulletin, download the zip file from the members' area, unzip the contents and upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to the forums directory on your web server, overwriting all existing files.
Open the 'includes/config.php.new' file in a text editor and alter the contents to match the settings for your own web server. Finally rename this file as 'config.php'.
Next follow the appropriate instructions below (replacing the text in red with the address of your own forums):
Installing a fresh version
Using your browser, navigate to http://your.forums.site/forums/install/install.php and follow the on-screen instructions.
Upgrading from a previous version
We strongly recommend that you back up your database by following the instructions in step one, here. Then, using your browser, navigate to http://your.forums.site/forums/install/upgrade.php and follow the on-screen instructions.
